Orange Belgium launches a series of initiatives to help the Belgian population and caretakers in facing the second wave of the Covid19 pandemic. The operator will offer every single residential and business customer, including small offices and independents, 5GB of free mobile internet per month until the end of the year. Orange Belgium shops remain open.

As a responsible operator, Orange Belgium strongly believes it is part of its societal commitment to help fighting the Covid19 pandemic. As the second wave hits the country strongly, the operator announces today a series of initiatives to help its customers, residential and businesses, caretakers and the general population:

  • Orange Belgium will offer 5GB of free mobile data per month until the end of the year to all of its mobile customers, residential but also businesses, small and home offices. Customers will see this extra volume appear in the MyOrange application or customer zone in the coming 10 days.
  • All Love (Duo and Trio) as well as HOME (internet and internet with TV) offers already contain unlimited broadband. Those customers have always been able to work and enjoy entertainment worry-free at home. Various solutions are available to enhance and improve indoor coverage in every room of the house, should that be necessary with homeworking and homeschooling.
  • Residential customers who have subscribed to a FlyBox offer will receive 50GB of free internet on top of their existing mobile data amount. Customers will be notified in coming days.
  • Finally, Orange Belgium shops will remain open. Orange customer service remains available for all administrative/technical questions via the various Orange social media channels (Facebook and Twitter), the Tribe community and the free number 5000. Customers who want additional products and/or services to stay connected during the lockdown can also buy them via the e-shop as well as via 0800 8 5000 (free).

In the coming weeks Orange Belgium will be investigating other initiatives to support the national fight against the Covid19 pandemic.

Xavier Pichon, CEO of Orange Belgium, comments: “It is our duty, as a responsible operator, to help wherever we can in this national effort to fight the Covid19 pandemic. Our utmost priority remains the safety of our employees and our customers, but we find it important to offer additional support by allowing people to stay in touch with each other, to enjoy entertainment while staying at home, by facilitating homeworking businesses and by supporting the most impacted economic sectors of the local economy. Our network is ready to handle a second wave of massively increased teleworking, thanks to a continuous monitoring of its performances and the increased capabilities for interconnections with the other operators, which were put in place during the first lockdown.”
