Brussels, 7 March 2014 - Today Red Bull MOBILE is launching, in collaboration with Mobistar, a new prepaid tariff plan that is better adapted to the evolving needs of young people. With the new Red Bull MOBILE tariff plan, young people can call and send SMS´s to all networks and get unlimited access to social media. In addition, Red Bull MOBILE users receive a surfing volume of 250 MB plus unlimited access to the dynamic world of Red Bull via the Red Bull MOBILE portal site. This co-marketing agreement offers Mobistar an opportunity to strengthen its position in the highly competitive prepaid market.
The telecommunication behaviour of young people has evolved. Mobistar recently commissioned GfK to do a survey on the telecom behaviour of young people, and the study revealed that more than half of the youngsters use a smartphone. Seven out of 10 of these young people with a smartphone use mobile data in order to surf and 71% of this group is present and active on social media via their smartphones. They above all watch videos and listen to music. They attach just as much importance to their smartphone as to their PC, and find their smartphone more important than TV. Finally, 80% of young people on average call more than twice as often with a mobile phone than with a landline telephone. Young people who use mobile data also spend more on average per month than those who do not use mobile data.
