Bart De Groote has been appointed Chief Consumer Marketing Officer at Mobistar

Brussels, June 4, 2012 – Bart De Groote is Mobistar’s new Chief Consumer Marketing Officer. He joined Mobistar in 1998, then he climbed the ladder of the marketing department of the company in recent years. His main task will be to accelerate the growth of Mobistar on the residential market.

Mobistar’s Board of Directors has appointed Bart De Groote, 42, as Chief Consumer Marketing Officer of the company. With this new position, he will be a member of the Executive Committee. With a degree in Applied Economics from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Bart De Groote joined Mobistar in 1998 after starting his career at J.P. Morgan in the audit department.

After two years at Mobistar as a Business Analyst within the Finance Department, Bart De Groote founded his own Internet start-up in 2000, called “Under the Cork”. It became the most important Belgian e-commerce site on the wine market during that period. In 2003, he decided to return to Mobistar, this time in the marketing department. Since then, he never stopped climbing the ladder, taking on more and more responsibility. Appointed Director of Consumer Marketing and Direct Marketing in 2009, Bart De Groote has already held the position of Chief Marketing Officer B2C ad interim since March 15 of this year.

Jean Marc Harion, Mobistar’s CEO, welcomes the appointment of Bart De Groote. "Bart has the experience and skills necessary to help us accelerate our growth in the residential market," he says. A Belgian national, Bart De Groote is married and has three daughters. He is perfectly trilingual (Dutch, French, English).
