Brussels, 13 May 2015 – Mobistar welcomes favourably the decision of the Brussels Court of Appeal rejecting the arguments of Nethys/Tecteo, Brutélé and Numericable and thus ending the legal proceedings against the regulation of the cable networks. This positive decision permits Mobistar to continue to prepare the launch of its TV and internet services on the cable networks.

With its judgement, which follows a similar judgement of the Court of Appeal about an Appeal procedure initiated by Telenet, the Brussels Court of Appeal confirms the decision of the regulators to regulate the cable networks. Mobistar invites the regulators to take this decision as a basis to ensure that the regulation of these networks meets its objectives: to improve competition on the market and to offer a better choice at better rates for consumers.

Mobistar is today awaiting the decision of the regulators regarding the applicable wholesale charges.  If these charges are attractive, they will allow profitable market entry in combination with interesting prices for consumers.
