Mobistar takes over telecommunication operations of Carrefour hypermarkets in Belgium

Brussels, 7 April 2014 – Mobistar has announced today that it has concluded an agreement with Carrefour for Carrefour’s hypermarkets telecommunication operations in Belgium. Mobistar and Carrefour have been working closely together since 2000. The strengthening of their cooperation is fully in line with Mobistar’s distribution strategy focusing on customer experience, service and more control over its distribution channels.

The role of distribution has changed thoroughly since the introduction of the new telecommunications law. Mobistar is adjusting its distribution strategy to this new reality and is currently reorienting its various sales channels towards a model that concentrates more on customer experience and service, whereas in the past the main priority was the acquisition of new customers.

Mobistar is taking over the Carrefour hypermarkets telecommunication operations in Belgium. This strengthens its cooperation with Carrefour, which has been going very well since 2000. To ensure the continuity and quality of service, Mobistar aims to take on as many employees as possible from company Your Call, which was responsible for 33 Carrefour’s hypermarkets telecommunication activities until it went bankrupt last month. Mobistar entered into an agreement with HR partner Tempo Team Professionals in this respect. Mobistar can confirm that the recruitment is going smoothly. Mobistar and Carrefour are confident that the telecommunication departments of most hypermarkets will be operational again next week. Both parties are very pleased that they will be able to offer continued employment with new employment contracts to most of the Your Call staff.
