Brussels, 23 July 2009 – Mobistar has published its financial results for the first half of 2009. Notwithstanding the unfavourable economic climate and the expected regulatory pressure, Mobistar is in line with its forecasts for the 2009 financial year. The company's sound financial situation is due to the implementation of its strategy and the control over changes in costs.

The total customer base of the Mobistar group consisted of 3,867,160 active customers at the end of June 2009, an increase of 4 % compared with 30 June 2008.
Consolidated turnover reached 761.6 million euros at the end of the first half of 2009, an increase of 2.2 % compared with the end of June 2008.
The EBITDA margin of total service revenues, which was still 38.3 % at the end of March 2009, increased during the second quarter of 2009. During that period, the EBITDA margin rose to 39.7 %, which enables Mobistar to close the first half of 2009 with an EBITDA margin of 39 % of total service revenues.
The number of Mobistar postpaid customers rose by 8.6 % over a one-year period and at the end of June 2009, for the first time, it passed the 2 million mark.
Mobistar confirmed its leadership in the machine-to-machine market, with 116,866 active cards at the end of June 2009, an increase of 25.1 % in comparison with the end of the first half of 2008.
Due to the relaunch of the fixed and mobile broadband offering, Mobistar counted 97,886 customers for ADSL and Internet Everywhere at the end of June 2009, an increase of 257 % compared with the end of June 2008.
