When it launched the Starpack offer, combining digital TV, broadband Internet and mobile and fixed line telephony, Mobistar promised that new functionalities would be added to its TV platform at regular intervals. A promise kept: now Mobistar Digital TV customers can also rent films via their remote control or via the Mobistar TV iPhone application. A new service available to Starpack customers from today, thanks to an automatic update of their decoders.
Called « MovieStar », this new video on demand (VOD) service is particularly easy to use. It boasts innovative functions such as a film search based on your favourite actor, or receiving film suggestions based on your purchase history. It also stands out for its « widget » mode, which allows you to access the platform while continuing to watch television.
The catalogue of films on demand offered by Mobistar includes international blockbusters as well as more local productions and covers all genres, from comedies to dramas to cartoons, with prices from 2.99 to 5.99 euros per rental. Recent hits such as Sucker Punch, Largo Winch 2, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 or The Next Three Days can be found among the titles available. In the coming months this catalogue will continue to expand thanks to the partnership signed with the Dutch content provider T.E.G. (The Entertainment Group). A well-known player in the film world, T.E.G. has good contacts with all the American studios, both majors and independents, and also has links with the main film distributors in Europe and the Benelux countries.
