The entire Antarctic ICE Expedition Team would like to thank the amazing teamwork of The Antarcic Company (TAC/ALCI) Logistics Team. Their expertise in a vast continent is simply astounding. Pilot Chuck Champoux and his operations team allowed for the calculated risk to go in and get Dixie and Sam in less than ideal conditions. Dixie called just before leaving their final camp. With the roar of the airplane engines in the background, he exclaimed: "It's a full moon! There's a full moon guiding us home!"
In a couple of days Dixie and Sam will fly up to NOVO/ALCI Airbase. Their scheduled departure from Antarctica, after spending more than 90 days on the continent, will leave from the NOVO/ALCI Airbase, the logistics hub in East-Antarctica, back to Cape Town on the night of February 21st. All of the above mentioned flights are of course weather dependent. We hope to have them back in Belgium on the morning of February 24th.
